Trend Alert! Teen Fiction

I know, I know, Teen Fiction as a trend is old news. But the Inspy market tends to lag behind a bit so… Anyway, Inspirational YA is really hot right now. (See this Publishers Weekly article for why.) It contains all genres, but paranormal is a pretty big deal. Vampires, angels, more angelstime travel, fairies, superheroesaliens… I haven’t seen any werewolves as of yet, but I keep hoping!

Zondervan, Thomas Nelson, Waterbrook/Multnomah, and AMG/Living Ink publishers are the big players in this market. Pioneers Melody Carlson and Robin Jones Gunn got things rolling and Bryan Davis and Wayne Thomas Batson have helped propel the genre forward. Author Jill Williamson is probably doing more to help this genre than anyone else at the moment and her website is the best place for comprehensive information on teen fiction and teen authors. (Although Other authors to watch are Andrew Klavan (AMAZING Suspense) and Lisa Tawn Bergren who is very in-touch with her market. For more authors visit Jill’s website already! (FamilyFiction.com is also great.)

Hi Claire, I am looking for reviewers for my March 2013 inspirational romantic suspense novel. Would you be interested in more information and/or reviewing my novel? Can you tell me how you take submissions for review? Thank you, and have a blessed day!
