“Mine is the Night” by Liz Curtis Higgs

I just finished Mine is the Night by Liz Curtis Higgs, which is a sequel to Here Burns My Candle.  Higgs transports us to the Jacobite uprisings in Scotland in this retelling of the biblical story of Ruth.  I  typically prefer fiction about lesser known biblical characters*, but I really liked this duo.  The cool historical period and the exploration of the relationship bewteen Ruth & Naomi makes this series superior to your average inspirational historical romance.

* See these awesome books about some real biblical go-getters!
